The cavitation in a cylindrical liquid metal shell (liner) imploded to a trapped magnetic field is discussed on the basis of the one-dimensional treatment of compressible fluid dynamics including the effect of the diffusion of magnetic field into the liner. The numerical results reveal not only the liner disruption resulting from the rarefaction wave propagation but also the ablation of the layer near the inner surface due to the tension of diffused magnetic field. The cavitation, however, can be avoided by making use of a rotating double-layer liner when much more compressible material in comparison with the outer layer is selected for the inner layer of the liner.
