BACKGROUNDDisplaced supracondylar fractures of the humerus in children are common paediatric injuries treated by orthopaedic surgeons. Literature is very clear that these fractures should be reduced and fixed in optimal position to avoid complications like neurovascular injuries and residual deformity. Of the various methods available for the treatment of these fractures, closed reduction and percutaneous pinning has shown improved results.

BACKGROUNDThe management of paediatric femoral shaft fractures has evolved towards a more operative approach in the present decade. It has been noticed that problems such as angulations, malrotation and limb length discrepancy cannot be effectively tackled by nonoperative treatment all the time.
