The aim of this study is to reveal the views of the practitioners regarding the measurement and evaluation sub-system of distance education applications in higher education. 11 faculty members working at Akdeniz University, determined with an easily accessible sampling of purposeful sampling methods, participated in this study in which qualitative research method was used. The research is in case study design, one of the qualitative research designs. Therefore, to collect data, a semi-structured interview form was prepared and an interview technique was used in the study. The data were analyzed by the content analysis technique. All the data obtained in the study were coded. Various themes and sub-themes suitable for these themes were determined by the purpose of the research, percentages and frequencies related to the sub-themes were calculated. When the findings are evaluated in the context of education management and the use of educational technologies, it was observed that the problems encountered in measurement and evaluation system in distance education in higher education are the lack of technological infrastructure, the safety of exams, failure to provide equal opportunities. As a result, opinions about an effective measurement and evaluation system have been put forward by the practitioners.
PurposeThe purpose of this study is to reveal the research trends in guest experiences of service robots in the hospitality industry.Design/methodology/approachIn this study, a review was carried out on the Web of Science (WoS) database with the assistance of bibliometric analysis techniques. Cluster analysis was also employed for this to group important data to determine the relationships and to visualize the areas in which the studies are concentrated. The thematic content analysis method was used to reveal on which customer experiences and on which methods the focuses were.FindingsOn the subject of experiences of service robots, the greatest number of publications was in 2021. In terms of country, China has come to the fore in the distribution of publications. As a result of thematic content analysis, it was determined that the leading factor was the main dimension of emotional experience. In terms of sub-dimensions, social interactions attracted more attention. Most of the studies discussed were not based on any theory. Apart from these, the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), the Service Quality Model (SERVQUAL) and Perceived Value Theory (PVT) were featured more prominently among other studies.Research limitations/implicationsIn this study, only the WoS database was reviewed. In future studies, it would be possible to make contextual comparisons by scanning other databases. In addition to quantitative research designs, social dimensions may be examined in depth following qualitative research methods. Thus, various comparisons can be made on the subject with mixed-method research designs. Experimental research designs can also be applied to where customers have experienced human-robot interactions (HRIs).Originality/valueIn the hospitality industry, it is critical to uncover every dimension of guests' robot acceptance. This study, which presents the current situation on this basis, guides future projections for the development of guest experiences regarding service robots in the hospitality industry.

The study was conducted in phenomenological design, which is among qualitative research designs. Thus, a semi-structured interview form was prepared and interview technique was used to collect data in the study. The data were analyzed via content analysis technique. All the data acquired in the study were coded, various dimensions and appropriate themes for these dimensions were determined in accordance with the study purpose. Percentages and frequencies related to the themes were calculated. As a result of the study, the views of shareholders on utilization of educational technologies in informal education institutions were revealed. The purpose of this study was to reveal the views of administrators working in institutions providing adult elderly education on teacher leadership. Ten administrators, who were determined via convenience sampling which is among purposeful sampling methods, participated in this study using qualitative research method. The study was conducted in phenomenological design, which is among qualitative research designs. The interview technique was used to collect data in the study, thus, a semi-structured interview form was prepared and used for this process. The data were analyzed via content analysis technique. All the data acquired in the study were coded, various dimensions and appropriate themes for these dimensions were determined in accordance with the purpose of the study, and percentages and frequencies related to the themes were calculated and the views of the administrators on teacher leadership were revealed. As a result, the concept of an enriched environment, including cognitive tasks, such as elder education courses (sports, physical activity, artistic and skill studies), can form the basis for systematic assessment of possible interventions for successful aging. It provides another effective possibility to achieve better physical, physiological and cognitive improvements, especially in older adult. Further efforts are needed on the basis of teacher leadership in older education courses to reduce weakness and dependency among older adults and maintain independent physical and cognitive function, mental health and well-being.
