In recent years, the use of audiobooks to enhance language skills in a foreign language and, in particular in English language, remains somehow outside this field of studies and their advantages are still unexplored and underestimated by foreign language researchers and teachers both in Bulgaria and worldwide. This paper aims to present a report on the most widespread digital platforms for listening to audiobooks, which are suitable to be implemented both in the classroom and in self-study practices. Their functionality is considered and an attempt is made to systematize their use according to language proficiency levels and appropriate age groups. This study is driven by the growing interest in audiobooks during the Covid-19 pandemic and the research of their place and role in foreign language learning.
