In the crystal, 5 b displays a crown-shaped ten-membered ring framework. The ester groups are arranged pairwise in a nearly C,-symmetric fashion. For both pairs, the Zr-0 (carbonyl) distances are too large for an interaction (Zr 1-0 5, 3.88; Zr2-03 4.48, Z r l -0 1 5 4.18, Zr2-013 4.00A).
