Sepiolite loaded with different cobalt oxide contents has been prepared by the precipitation method followed by calcination at 410ºC. The synthesized Co-loaded samples were characterized by physical methods using XRD, SEM, BET, and H2-TPR. The obtained solids have a large specific area and good distribution of cobalt oxide nanoparticles on sepiolite carrier. The catalysts were tested for the oxidative removal of rhodamine B solution and found that 1.0 – 3.0 wt.% cobalt ion/sepiolite samples exhibited the highest decoloration efficiency of rhodamine B (88-90%) in the presence of hydrogen peroxide at room temperature after the treatment of 30 mg/L of RhB solution in 210 minutes.
The Mn-doped MoS2 (Mn-MoS2) material is fabricated by a facile one-step calcination method. The Mn2+ content introduced into MoS2 is ranged from 1 wt% to 7 wt%. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy SEM results suggest that the doping of Mn2+ does not alter the crystal structure and the morphology of MoS2. However, it helps the Mn-doped MoS2 to exhibit stronger visible light absorption and higher magnetism. Especially, in the RhB degradation under visible light irradiation, better photocatalytic performance of the as-prepared Mn-doped MoS2 is observed compared to that of pure MoS2
Dichromate anions were intercalated between two consecutive hydroxide layers of [Mg0.6Al0.4(OH)2]0.40+ via co-precipitation at different pH conditions. The physico-chemical properties of the obtained solids were examined by physical methods such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), Infrared (IR), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) and Energy-Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS). The experimental results indicated that the amount of dichromate anions in the catalysts varies with the pH media. Also, the morphology, structure and chemical composition of the materials depends strongly on the preparation conditions. The Mg-Al-Cr2O7 hydrotalcite-like compounds are used as heterogeneous catalysts for the styrene oxidation with H2O2 at mild conditions. The styrene conversion is about 20-50% while styrene selectivity remains rather high.
CoOx/magenium silicate catalysts are obtained though precipitation and calcination method. The prepared solids were analyzed by XRD, BET, EDS... Cobalt(II) ions supported-magnesium silicate catalysts expressed as effective catalysts for selective oxidation of benzyl alcohol using tert-butyl hydroperoxide as an oxidizing agent. The experimental results showed very high selectivity to the benzaldehyde product at benzyl alcohol conversion of 18-25%.
