This paper presents a wideband cavity filter with a notched band. The wideband bandpass characteristics are obtained by a cylindrical cavity with two symmetrical conductive posts. The notch with the center frequency of 2 GHz is obtained by loading two symmetrical notched elements, and the notched elements consist of a stepped impedance structure. In addition, the two symmetrical notched elements are loaded at the bottom of the cavity, similar to the two symmetrical conductive posts. The proposed filter's notched frequency and notched bandwidth can be controlled. The cavity filter is designed, manufactured, and tested to be demonstrated in this paper. The whole bandwidth of the filter is from 1.7 to 2.7 GHz, and the notched band is over a frequency range from 1.9 to 2.1 GHz. The exhibited performance of the filter verifies the proposed concept.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
