Auction-based resource allocation mechanisms have been believed as promising approaches to effectively managing cloud resource supply and demand, and thus recently attracted substantial research interests. In this paper, we present a novel online auction framework for deadline-aware cloud resource allocation. Our framework consists of two major parts. We first design an offline auction mechanism taking into account deadline requirements from different resource requests, and further present an online framework built on top of the offline auction mechanism. Our theoretical analysis shows that both the offline and online auction mechanisms are truthful.
