MIPs was synthesized through microwave assisted organic synthesis (MAOS) method by using methyl methacrylate (MMA) as functional monomer, ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EGDMA) as cross-linker, benzoyl peroxide (BPO) as initiator, N,N-dimethyl formamide (DMF) as porogen solvent, and (HA) as template. The MIPs was successfully synthesized according to the characterization using Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, scanning electron microscope (SEM), electron dispersive spectrometer (EDS), and UV spectrophotometer. FTIR shows the other functional groups peaks in the FTIR spectra of NIPs and MIPs after leaching were appeared at the wavelength of 2955 cm-1 corresponded to stretching vibration of C-H of 1459 cm-1 and 1160.06 cm-1 corresponded to the vibration bands of CH3 and O-CH3. EDS shows the MIPs after leaching have the elemental compositions of C, O, and Si with a mass of 78.34, 21.43, and 0.23%. UV spectrum shows the MIPs and NIPs have absorbance values of 0.36 nm and 0.44 nm.
Indonesia has seen a rise in Black Soldier Fly maggots. Maggot farming offers great economic diversification. BSF (maggot) larvae may eat many organic materials, making them special. This helps bioconvert organic waste, which can damage the environment and harm people's health if not treated properly. Protein-rich maggots are animal feed ingredients. Serious maggot cultivation can create new jobs. This maggot culture has a hidden gem that must be removed. Maggot oil studies still produce animal feed. Maggot oil is antibacterial and emollient, making it a cosmetic and medicinal ingredient, according to worldwide studies. Cosmetics use fats as viscosity enhancers or emulsifiers. As a proof of concept, BSF larvae fat will be used in hand cream compositions to show its potential in organic waste processing, animal feed, and health and beauty additives. Naturally, national and international scientific journals and social media have not broadly shared this information and talents. The Cosmetic Engineering study program's Community Service Team shares information, insights, and talents to connect research, education, and community applications. The ITERA Cosmetics Engineering team will train maggot breeders in Triharjo village to increase maggot production and diversify maggot products to boost sales.
SODIUM LAURETH SULFATE (SLS) DECORATED α-PbO NANOCRYSTALS: OPTICAL, STRUCTURE, AND MORPHOLOGY PROPERTIES. The α-PbO nanocrystals were successfully decorated using sodium laureth sulfate (SLS) anionic surfactant. The method used is one-pot synthesis approach. The precursor used is lead nitrate (Pb(NO3)2). The UV-Vis spectrophotometer showed the absorption peak of α-PbO nanocrystals was seen at wavelength of 237 nm and an absorbance value of 0.7. The optical properties of PbO nanocrystals can be seen at the bandgap value of 4.2 eV. FT-IR spectroscopy showed the shift of absorption peak at the wavenumber of 1358 cm-1. XRD spectroscopy showed the crystals of PbO at diffraction angles (2θ) of 10-80o: 29.17, 32.54, 37.85, 39.62, 45.16, 46.21, 56.12, and 61.73 with miller indices of (111), (200), (201), (121), (220), (030), (311), and (032), respectively. The crystal size average of PbO was 56.32 nm. The results of PSA and PZC shows the particle size distribution of PbO is 71.5 nm with inter-particle charge of -25 mV. SEM-EDX data shows the PbO nanocrystals have an irregularly spherical with a compounds composition of Pb (83.12%) and O (16.88%). From the data of characterization, it can be concluded the PbO nanocrystals was successfully decorated using the surfactant anionic of sodium laureth sulfate.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
