The maintenance of handling equipment is an area with a huge potential for increasing availability and reliability and to reduce costs and losses.Several maintenance approaches and systems have been developed, such as reactive, proactive or aggressive systems, etc. However the validity of these systems could be question able if is used while collecting wrong data, e.g. using OEE index for handling equipment. Therefore it is necessary to establish a versatile methodology which can serve asa consistent tool for evaluating their efficiency and which provides us information about the state of handling equipment. This paper proposes a consistent tool for evaluating the efficiency of handling equipment and joins together maintenance approaches and systems. There is also shown a comparison of the most common maintenance approaches for handling equipment.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
