The present paper describes the application of Kansei Engineering to physical design of engineering products as well as its realization by laser sintering, XNe have investigated affective information that might be included in three-dimensional objects such as a ceramic bowl for tea ceTemony, First, X-ray CT apparatus is ulilized to retrieve surface data from the teabowl, and then frequency analysis is carried out after noise is filtered. Ihe surface fluctuation is characterized by the power spectrum that is in inverse proportion to the wave number f in circumference.Second, we consider how to realize the surface with a lff fluctuation on a computer screen using a 3D CAD model. The fluctuation is applied to a reference shape assuming that the outer surface has a spiral fiow line on which unevenness is superimposed. Finally, the seiective laser sintering method has been applied to the fabrication of 1/f flactuation objects. Nylon powder is sintered [ayer by layer using C02 ]aser to form an artificial teabowl wjth complicated surface patterns.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
