This paper aims to review the impact of climate change on Nigeria's agribusiness value chain. In this study, the researcher reviewed recent and popular academic journals in the area of climate change and agricultural value chains. This review process aims to strengthen the existing literature in this field of study. After carefully reviewing the literature, the paper revealed that the change in the global climate has a significant impact on the agribusiness value chain. The Nigerian agricultural value chain consists of the pre-upstream, up-stream, mid-stream, and down-stream. All the streams are directly or indirectly affected by climate change. The climate change impact varies across the value chain; it affects each stream with a different magnitude. The review also revealed that climate change has a significant effect on the food production value chain with a higher impact on pre-upstream and upstream when compared to mid and downstream. Suggestions presented in this paper include focusing on greenhouse gas reduction, practicing precision farming, using a reusable source of energy, taking advantage of IoT, and climate-smart agricultural technologies. This review will help the value chain stakeholders to understand how to achieve sustainability on the value chain and understand how to mitigate or adapt to climate change impacts.
Employee performance plays a crucial role in the productivity of organizations, especially in the hospitality industry in Malaysia. This work performance is influenced by leadership style, and finding the type of leadership style that is suitable to apply to employees is crucial, especially in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Transformational leadership theory is selected for this study in determining leadership styles. There are four dimensions under transformational leadership theory, namely idealized influence, individualized consideration, inspirational motivation and intellectual stimulation. Data were collected online from 400 employees working in the hospitality industry in Malaysia and analyzed using partial least square structure equation modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings show that only two dimensions of transformational leadership, namely idealized influence and inspirational motivation, have a significant positive influence on employee performance. Implications in the context of human resource management and recommendations to increase employee performance are also discussed.
Precision technology elements have not been implemented yet into the sustainable oil palm industry because the knowledge and technology gap. To resolve the gaps, promote sustainability and integrate the technologies, Oil Palm Management System (OPAMS) was introduced. The precision technologies in OPAMS comprises of Geographical Information System (GIS), Global Positioning System (GPS), remote sensing and yield monitoring. A phase by phase System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology was used to generate the said system with feedbacks from oil palm planters as the inputs for OPAMS’s key features. OPAMS ultimately aims to increase the awareness of the industry on the benefits of utilizing technology to improve plantation performances, increase business and environmental sustainability.
With the advancement of technology, the metaverse image is used to improve the success rate of surgical. The purpose of this study was to understand the acceptance of extended reality surgery by different populations of medical experts and patients. The main reason for using a triangular mixed model for the study is because of the small amount of relevant research data for this study, quantitative research, exploratory research, and cross-sectional research can avoid some human interference and reduce error. The results of the study data showed that the image model, interaction design, surgeon, and clarity of use of the head-mounted display with metaverse technology by the expert group were conducive to improved surgical success rates. Metaverse surgery offers opportunities for modern digital surgery and can effectively improve the expert's ability to promote the smoothness of physical indicators during the procedure. This study is pioneering the role of a metaverse in facilitating surgery from the dual perspective of medical experts and patients.
