BIPV (Building Integrated Photovoltaics) refers to the application of PV (photovoltaic) in which the system as well as having the function of producing electricity, also takes the role of building form and element. Empirical facts show that PV in BIPV system is integrated as add-on element only. They didn't take the role as form giver yet. Electricity output generized by BIPV depends on the amount of solar radiation received by PV panel. There are some factors affect the amount of radiation received. Two of them are tilt and orientation angle of PV panel, and total area prepared for PV panel installment.This research try to rise electricity output by collaborating those two factors with orientation and multiplicity principle in folding concept. Folding element can be arranged based on optimum tilt and orientation angle to reach maximum radiation supply. Also, the collaboration results in bigger surface area to receive higher solar irradiance. Experiment with simulation as it tools will be used as research method to get the optimal configuration of Folding Roof-BIPV.
Today’s cities are developing at a breakneck pace, resulting in physical modifications to buildings. This growth can also be witnessed in the presence of new structures designed to house city-related operations. This research was conducted in the corridor area of Surabaya’s Karet Street, a historical district. Numerous historical structures may be seen along Karet Street, including surviving colonial and Chinese-style structures. Historically, this Karet Street corridor region served as a commerce hub due to its proximity to the Kali Mas (Mas River) trade route. However, as the era progressed, the buildings in the corridor of Karet Street became abandoned, many were neglected, and other structures were added, resulting in inconsistency between buildings. Thus, this research aimed to characterize the building facade components along the Karet Street corridor. The research technique used was descriptive qualitative research. Sixty-two structures along the Karet Street corridor comprise the sampled area. The factors consisted of the building’s door/entrance, windows, walls, roof, and the stylef the building—a qualitative descriptive analysis based on the state of the building’s facade in the field. Direct observation, existing literature, and documentation were employed to obtain data. The study’s findings revealed inconsistencies in the building’s exterior components, particularly in the structure’s modern style. In an area that contains colonial and Chinese-style buildings, this contradiction might undermine the area’s historical assets. Additionally, modifications and damage to facade components might obliterate the authenticity of existing historical value.
In recent decades, a number of studies in culture and the fine arts have found that the decline in environmental quality has become a significant problem. Ecological aesthetics is one of the intriguing subtopics that has arisen from these discussions. This paper seeks to pinpoint recent research trends and patterns in the field of ecological aesthetics. To do so, a systematic literature review was conducted using the keyword 'ecological aesthetics'. PRISMA (preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analyses) was used to filter and categorise scientific papers chosen from the Scopus, Science Direct, Proquest and Emerald platforms as study materials. A research roadmap of ecological aesthetics is the study's final output. This may facilitate the beginning of new research on the topic of ecological aesthetics.
