This study aims to understand guests' perception of spa hotels relationships of brand cognition, service quality, leisure experience and repurchase intension. Survey system targeted on Miaoli County Tai District's most advanced spas, Tyan Hot Spring Resort, for the study area, and to the field to the Taian hot spring area hotel accommodations were targeted in the spring during peak season (December through February), mining census methods were used to collect data, with a total of 387 valid questionnaires collected. Based on statistical analysis, this study found as follows: (1) Brand cognition positively impacts consume experience and service quality. Through these two variables on repurchase intension, there exists indirect effect. (2) Service quality has positive impact on repurchase intension. (3) Consume experience has positive impact on repurchase intension. In sum, we summarize findings, making specific and practical recommendations for spa operators to serve industry and for researchers as references.
Leakage is the most serious problem in reservoir operation, because heavy leakage influences reservoir impoundment efficiency and even leads to a complete loss of reservoir functions. Since its completion in 1982, Qionglin Reservoir has never been fully filled with water except in the spring of 1983 when there was heavy rain. The reservoir management unit suspected that its side slopes, bottom or dam might leak and carried out a number of leakage prevention and improvement works, but all of them failed to fulfill the impoundment function of the reservoir. Hence, this study attempts to find out the reasons why the reservoir cannot impound water. A series of tests and investigations are carried out in this study, including electrical resistivity tomography of dam, tracer test, geological drilling test, reservoir water level observation, investigation of reservoir catchment area and field investigation of dam. The test results and investigation results show that no leakage path and leakage are found. According to the analysis, there is no serious leakage of this reservoir. The main reason for the failure of impoundment is that massive improper development in the catchment area influences the runoff into the reservoir.
Purpose
The preservation and disappearance of indigenous people’s traditional knowledge system, under mainstream social culture immersion and fusion, have presented a dynamic and changing acculturation interactive relationship impacting Truku women’s health concepts. Thus, the purpose of this paper is to explore how the traditional Gaya knowledge system and mainstream culture confinement care model affect the beliefs and behaviours of postpartum self-care amongst contemporary Truku women.
Design/methodology/approach
An ethnographic semi-structured method, based on cultural care factors and the Leininger Sunrise Model, was conducted to interview 17 Truku women with childbearning experience in eastern Taiwan. As data were collected, UDIST Vivo 11.0 software was applied for analysis.
Findings
Amongst the three knowledge system categories, namely, traditional, mainstream and reconstruction, the traditional knowledge system, including Gaya norms, provides the overall cultural value of a Truku family. While taboo is inherited through the experience of the elders, the mainstream knowledge system favours the Han. However, the reconstruction knowledge system highlights the “functional” response strategies based on Truku women’s comfort and conveniences.
Originality/value
Limited relevant studies have focused on the health and postpartum self-care knowledge of ethnic Truku women in Taiwan. The results are expected to provide clinical medical personnel with a reference and strengthen cultural sensitivity and the ability to implement the cultural congruency care of postpartum indigenous women in Taiwan.
