In the last few years various methods are being applied in the use of platelet-rich plasma PRP during treatment in different orthopedic disease and sports trauma. They allow improvement of local biological condition and regeneration of different types of tissues. PRP is a modern treatment strategy with worldwide recognition. There is a high concentration of platelet growth factors in small amounts of plasma. PRP and its various forms have become one of the best methods to support the healing process of various tissues. PRP is used in regenerative medicine, because it provides two of three components growth factors and scaffolds necessary for complete tissue regeneration. The particular reason for the appearance of lesions is important in order to select an appropriate treatment method and technical application. Main indications are acute and chronic wounds, pseudarthrosis, ligament and muscle injuries, some tendinopathies, osteoarthritis, chondral injuries.
The occasional humeral growth retardation or premature closure of the growth plate medially, documented among more than 120 solitary bone cysts reviewed, was reason to undertake a thorough study of the growth plate in the area of the cyst. The findings in the hyaline zone disclose a considerable number of vessels and slits of the cartilage that are broadened toward the proliferative and hypertrophic zones. In some places they communicate with the vessels or are lined with endothelium. Ultrastructurally, changes of a destructive nature are disclosed, involving the growth plate zone and corresponding to the most active metabolic processes. In the altered chondrocytes substantial increases in glycogen granules and lipid droplets are observed, as well as reduction of the cellular organelles. In rather severely affected cells changes in the nuclei, lysosomal structures, and myelin-like lamellar bodies are established. The disappearance of cellular organelles and the fragmentation of cytoplasm are interpreted as a final phase of the above-listed changes. In conclusion, the cyst is considered a probable primary cause of the changes described.
OBJECTIVE: The objective of this paper is to present the application of our own algorithms for prevention and treatment of problematic skin wounds (PSW) by using the platelet-rich plasma (PRP) based on the first study on PRP application carried out in Bulgaria. MATERIAL AND METHODS: The study was carried out at the Clinic of Orthopedics and Traumatology, UMBAL Kanev Ruse, for a period of 84 months - from February 2009 to September 2016. A total of 83 patients with PSW have been treated with platelet-rich plasma. Scores introduced by Cancela AM are used for the assessment of the respective wound. Each of these scores is used for assessing specific wound parameters. RESULTS: Our own algorithms for prevention and treatment of PSW by PRP increase the percentage of successfully cured wounds. Prevention algorithm of applying PRP ensures that a high percentage of acute skin wounds will not turn into PSW. The proposed algorithms for prevention and treatment of PSW by applying PRP are an effective and safe way to reduce the uncured complicated skin wounds and ensure the subsequent normal life of patients. They also ensure more predictable skin healing. CONCLUSION: Our own algorithms for prevention and treatment of PSW by PRP increase the percentage of successfully cured wounds. The proposed algorithms for prevention and treatment of PSW by applying PRP are an effective and safe way to reduce the uncured complicated skin wounds and ensure the subsequent normal life of patients.
The paper presents a concept of application of electronic modeling in the development of e-Health systems for prevention in the diagnosis of problematic skin wounds, which include prevention and treatment, allowing uniformity in the assessment and increase the reliability of treatment tools to achieve a full life without pain, risk, and stress. Health and disease are two phases, changing smoothly or dramatically. It is to this uniqueness of the influences for their direct or indirect management that the research is directed - providing the practicing medical specialists with an opportunity for alternative and adequate diagnostics to ensure the subsequent normal life of the patient. The developed e-Health systems have been applied in the training of specialists in the specialties "Midwife" and "Nurse" and in the specialty "Electronics" at the University of Ruse. They are used in practical training of future doctors in UMHAT KANEV Ruse.
