The gradual transition from digital to smart cities has become a reality in recent years. The study of the fundamental concept of smart cities, as well as methods of their support, attracted unprecedented attention. This paper discusses the concept of smart cities, which states that a real city and a digital city can be integrated into a smart city using information and communication technologies. Intelligent urban management services and public services can be provided in smart cities by analyzing the data obtained from a large number of sensors and stored on cloud computing platforms.
