In this study, a novel asymmetrically meso-substituted AB3 porphyrins derivative including one triazole group to enhance the anticancer activity of the molecule and three bromophenyl groups to improve photochemical properties has been synthesized and characterized. Our objectives were to generate a system with triazole and bromophenyl groups that enhance the singlet oxygen generation and exhibits an anti-cancer effect. Therefore, photophysical and photochemical properties of this asymmetric porphyrin derivative (AB[Formula: see text] and the symmetric derivative (B[Formula: see text] were investigated in THF. The substituent effect on fluorescence quantum yield and singlet oxygen generation was evaluated for efficiency in photodynamic therapy (PDT) as a photosensitizer. The molecules exhibited no aggregation tendency, solubility in common organic solvents and high singlet oxygen quantum yield in THF therefore these favorable properties make them good candidates as a photosensitizer for PDT.
THE IMPACT OF MEDIA ON THE EATING HABIT, FOOD SELECTION, AND CONSUMPTION OF WOMENABSTRACT The aim of the study is to evaluate impact of media on eating habit, food selection and consumption of women with or without child. This descriptive type of research has been carried out with 246 women (ranging 18-65 years of age) who were referred to three Community Health Centers affiliated with Izmir Community Health Organization. The data collection comprised of 4 sections and 29 questions related to sociodemographic characteristics, food purchasing behaviors, following media, nourishment, influence of media and behavioral change. Chi-Square Test was used. Women"s mean age was 35.19±12.43 year, greater than half was married (64.2%), and 60.0% had a child. Of 246 women participated in the study, they paid attention the freshness (n=243), the expiration date (n=237), the nutritious quality (n=236), the appropriateness for health (n=233), and the price (n=232) while they purchase food. Statistically, women were influenced by nourishment-related news, articles and advertisements taking place in media (p<0.05). As a result, all women, whether they have children or not, are influenced by nourishment-related news, articles and advertisements taking place in media.
In an attempt to investigate its potential as a PDT [Formula: see text]F MRI molecular theranostic, a Zn phthalocyanine with 24 pseudo-equivalent fluorine atoms was designed and prepared. Compared to its H analogues, the fluorinated derivative has a much higher generation of singlet oxygen. [Formula: see text]F NMR signals in CDCl3 showed that all the fluorine atoms are magnetically pseudo-equivalent with only two close fluorine signals. Formulation in PVP (polyvinylpyrrolidone), a FDA-approved additive, enabled water-solubilization of the phthalocyanines but no satisfying [Formula: see text]F NMR signal could be obtained, probably due to self-quenching caused by aggregation.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
