Abstraceuperconducting Bi-(2223) multifilamentary tapes with AglWxY, alloy sheaths, with Y=Cu, Mn and Pd, were made by the oxide-powder-in-tube technique. All resistivities of the Ag alloy sheaths exceed that of the pure Ag sheath by at least a factor of 2. The maximam resistivity was achieved for AgwPdl with ~7~1 . 3 pQcm. Tapes sheathed by Ag90Cu10 exceed the critical current density, Jc, of pure Ag sheathed ones. Jc up to 26 W c m 2 were achieved by pressing AgWCulo Sheathed tapes during the thermo-mechanical-treatment, TMT. For thinner AgWCu,, sheathed tapes up to 31 kA/cm2 were obtained employing flat rolling during TMT. Measured lines of thin and thicker tapes with comparable Jc bicker tapes have a larger pinning strength and a better grain texture but thinner ones a better grain-to-grain connectivity.
Bi-2223 multifilamentary tapes with Ag and Ag alloy (AgMn, AgPdAu) sheaths have been fabricated using the OPIT technique. From thermal analysis and XRD investigations one can conclude that the formation rate and microstructure of the Bi-2223 phase is strongly influenced by the occurrence of a liquid phase during the precursor transformation. The parameters of the thermomechanical treatment were optimized such that values of (77 K, 0 T) could be achieved for tapes of a length up to 550 m, independent of the tape length. On Ag alloy sheathed tapes values of were measured. The value of the tensile strength, which can be applied to the tapes without degradation of was doubled by substitution of Ag alloys for pure Ag sheath material.
Es werden die wichtigsten Anwendungsvorteile der Texturuntersuchung mittels Neutronenbeugung gegenüber der Röntgeninterferenzmethode dargestellt. Eine Beschreibung der am Rossendorfer Reaktor im Einsatz befindlichen Experimentiertechnik und der verwendeten Untersuchungsmethodik bei der vollautomatischen Vermessung vollständiger Polfiguren schließt sich an. – Anhand der dreidimensionalen Orientierungsverteilungsfunktionen werden einige neuere Ergebnisse der Texturforschung an kfz. bzw. krz. Metallen und Legierungen diskutiert. Bei der Untersuchung der Walztextur des Kupfers zeigt sich, daß die Vorzugsorientierung durch einen charakteristischen Schlauch repräsentiert wird. Er verkürzt sich beim Übergang zu α‐Messing mit steigender Zinkkonzentration bzw. bei Erhöhung des Walzgrades. – Wie die Messungen an Eisen beweisen, entsprechen die zur Beschreibung der Entwicklung der Walztextur krz. Metalle herangezogenen idealen Lagen denen der Kupfertextur, wenn man die Indizes von Walz‐ und Normalrichtung vertauscht. – In Übereinstimmung mit der Taylortheorie treten an der Oberfläche von Drähten aus Aluminium Texturen auf, die einer Walztextur ähnlich sind, im Drahtinnern dagegen findet man gewöhnliche Fasertexturen.
Three-dimensional orientation distribution functions were calculated from neutron diffraction pole figures of unwound cylinders taken at different distances from the centre of cold drawn Al-wires. Their features change from the axially symmetric type at the very centre of the wire towards a texture near to the rolling type at the surface. Relations between the three-dimensional function and ordinary fibre texture pole figures were used to study the dependence of the textures on certain processing variables for cold drawn as well as recrystallized wires.
