Abstract: Ectopic pregnancy has been characterized in the literature as a process of insertion of the fetus outside the uterus region, being, therefore, necessary to remove it to guarantee the mother's life. In this sense, this article aims to describe ectopic pregnancy. In the integrative literature review, the main recommendations for ectopic pregnancy based on epidemiological data from Brazil were sought. To guide the present study, we based the question on how to diagnose and treat ectopic pregnancy. We consider unpublished studies written in Portuguese and English. Between the years 2019 and 2021. We used the DeCS descriptors: “ectopic pregnancy”, “gestation” and “care”. We took the following databases as parameters: MEDLINE and, after the search, 205 studies were found. After applying the search criteria, we found 11 studies in which studies were selected as they adequately answered the research question. Early diagnosis directly contributes to the use of less invasive treatments; as well as generating less impact on women's quality of life and on their physical and emotional health. Keywords: Ectopic pregnancy; gestation; scratches; obstetrics and gynecology.
