Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan model pembelajaran matematika berbasis masalah yang valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk siswa SMP kelas VIII semester 2. Tahap-tahap pengembangan model pembelajaran matematika berbasis masalah terdiri atas (1) tahap pendahuluan, (2) tahap prototiping yang meliputi perencanaan, evaluasi dan revisi, dan (3) tahap penilaian produk. Kualitas model pembelajaran matematika berbasis masalah mengacu pada kriteria kualitas menurut Nieveen yaitu meliputi kriteria valid, praktis, dan efektif. Pembelajaran matematika berbasis masalah diujicobakan di SMP Negeri 15 Yogyakarta dengan melibatkan 33 siswa dan seorang guru matematika. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini terdiri atas (1) instrumen penilaian kevalidan komponen model dan perangkat pendukung pembelajaran, (2) instrumen penilaian kepraktisan dari guru dan siswa, dan (3) instrumen keefektifan yang meliputi lembar tes hasil belajar dan angket apresiasi siswa terhadap pembelajaran matematika berbasis masalah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran matematika berbasis masalah yang mencakup sintak/langkah-langkah pembelajaran, sistem sosial, prinsip reaksi, sistem pendukung dan dampak instruksional dan pendukung, beserta perangkat pendukung pembelajaran telah memenuhi kriteria valid, praktis, dan efektif. Tujuan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah memberikan pelatihan kepada guru matematika SMP untuk mengembangkan instrumen tes matematika SMP. Peserta pelatihan ini terdiri atas 12 guru dari 4 sekolah yaitu SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Godean, SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Gamping, SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Minggir, dan SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Depok, Kabupaten Sleman, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Godean. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian adalah melalui ceramah, diskusi, dan proyek. Pada kegiatan ceramah pemateri meyampaikan materi tentang teknik penambangan instrumen penilaian sesuai dengan prosedur yang baku dilanjutkan dengan diskusi. Setelah diskusi, peserta pelatihan megerjakan tugas proyek berupa menyusun instrument tes mata pelajaran matematika SMP, menganalisis secara kualitatif, mengujicobakannya, dan menganalisis berdasar data empirik. Melalui pelatihan ini peserta memeroleh keterampilan dalam mengembangkan instrument penilaian tes matematika SMP. Kegiatan ini telah menghasilkan perangkat instrument tes pilihan ganda untuk mata pelajaran matematika SMP untuk materi perbandingan, bangun datar, dan hubungan antar sudut yang terstandar.
Straight-sides solid subject matter was one of difficult subject matter to be understood by junior high school students in Indonesia. Developing teaching material was one of alternatives to solve that problem. This research aims to develop the application of Android-based teaching material for straight-sides solid for supporting students of junior high school in comprehend of straight-sides solid subject matter. Define, design, develop, and disseminate were the steps in developing the application. The first step of developing was identify the problem and define the product which will be developed. The next step after product defined was design the storyboard as the guidance to develop the application. Teaching experts and media experts had validated the application. They judged that the application developed was valid. The application had been disseminated to mathematics teachers and students in junior high school. Teachers stated that this application was very useful to delivered concept of straight-sides solid in junior high school while the students stated that it helped them in understanding the concepts of straight-sides solid.
The purpose of this study was to develop teaching material in the form of Android-based application for junior high school mathematics subjects in statistical material that are integrated with WhatsApp social media platform. The procedure for developing teaching materials was carried out through the stages of defining, designing, developing, and disseminating. The platform used to develop teaching material was MIT App Inventor. The teaching materials developed have been validated by two media experts and material experts. The trial of teaching material was carried out to educators and prospective mathematics educators in the Special Region of Yogyakarta and students at Depok 3 State Junior High School. This study has succeeded in developing Android-based teaching materials for junior high school mathematics subjects in valid and effective statistical material. The menus contained in this application consist of material and competency test. On the competency test menu, students can do the test and after completion, the application will display the score of the test results. What interesting about this application, the test results can be sent to the teacher via WhatsApp.
