The results of Mossbauer and X-ray diffraction investigations of neutron irradiated FeaAl alloy are presented. The behaviour of the irradiated samples during heat treatment shows significant differences as compared with the nonirradiated ones in the Mossbauer spectra and diffraction patterns. The results are attributed to the presence of submicroparticles of new phases in the irradiated samples which are stable during heat treatment.
Sulphur and carbon grain boundary segregations are studied by Auger spectroscopy. Differently heat‐treated samples are electrolytically deuterium doped and fractured by tension in the chamber of a special Auger spectrometer. The deuterium content is calculated on grain boundaries in the frame of Guttmann's formal approach taking into account the interatomic interaction in 2HSC complex segregation. The effective energy of deuterium segregation and its grain boundary concentration increase with growing S and C segregation level.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
