We analyze the most important spin observables representing the difference functions (P-A y ) and (P-A y )σ, along with the spin transfer coefficients D NN , D SS , and D LL in the inelastic scattering of polarized protons. We examine the excitation of the state 1 + , T = 0 (12.71 MeV) in the 12 C nucleus at the energies of projectile protons E p = 200 MeV and E p ~ 400 MeV. These spin observables are treated in the context of the exchange features of the effective interaction.
Abstrtact-Spin observables in the process ( ) are analyzed at intermediate energies in the range 100-500 MeV. Experimental and theoretical data are compared for the reaction 12 C( ) 12 C involving excitation of states 1 + , T = 0 (12.71 MeV) and 1 + , T = 1 (15.11 MeV). Two varieties of DWIA type calculations are mainly used, allowing the role of isospin effects to be distinguished.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
