The textbook considers the stages of development of technology, mechanical engineering and production automation as the basis for designing technological machines and complexes. Examples of original design solutions for automation equipment and, in general, for modern technological complexes in mechanical engineering are given. Meets the requirements of the latest generation of federal state educational standards. It is intended for students of higher educational institutions studying in the bachelor's degree program 15.03.04 "Automation of technological processes and production".

The authors considered the circuits of a cold profile rolling by one, two and three smooth rollers with lateral or longitudinal feed movement. It is displayed that longitudinal feed movement ensures smaller errors of working than lateral feed movement.

The article describes the factors, which influence the accuracy of toothed gear. It is shown that significant influence on accuracy have the following factors: accuracy of manufacturing and assembling of all the transmission elements. The example of the calculation of the technological dimensional chains for cylindrical toothed gears is given.
