Fused pyridine derivatives R 0450Synthesis and Antiviral Activity of Fluorinated Pyrido[1,2-a]benzimidazoles. -A series of title pyridobenzimidazoles (V), (VI), (VIII) and (X) as well as the corresponding amino derivatives (by transformations at the formyl or chloro substituents) is prepared and tested for their antiviral as well as cytotoxic activity. Only derivatives (VIII) and (X) possess weak activity against ortho-pox viruses. The other derivatives are inactive. -(KOTOVSKAYA, S. K.; BASKAKOVA, Z. M.; CHARUSHIN, V. N.; CHUPAKHIN, O. scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
