The introduction of an individual anatomical parameter R, taking into account the different lengths of the aorta and of the iliaca-femoralis-tibialis, reduces the individual variability in the measurement of the pulse wave velocity. The dependence of pulse wave velocity on age and pressure is discussed in terms of results obtained by a multivariate analysis of experimental data.
Observations are reported of the rate at whlch flux enters or leaves various specimens of type I1 superconductors when the applied magnetic field is suddenly changed, and the results are used to deduce values of the flux flow resistivity. It is shown that Kim's empirical relation for this resistivity IS obeyed both in NbTa alloys ( I < 8 and in pure niobium ( l a 8. Some account of the observed magnetization curves in the specimens is also included.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
