The data of genome-wide association analysis suggest that human 6p21.3 chromosomal region (localization of HLA genes) contains polymorphic loci influencing the risk of developing non-Hodgkin's lymphomas. We analyzed association of rs2647012 and rs805288 loci with the risk for non-Hodgkin's malignant lymphomas in the population of Western Siberia. Allele and genotype frequencies were determined in the group of 298 patients and in the control group including 551 individuals. Subgroups of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (86 patients) and follicular lymphoma (25 patients) were analyzed separately. An association of rs2647012 А/А genotype with increased risk of the disease (OR = 2.78, p = 0.002) was detected in the subgroup of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.
Telomere length could be one of the risk factors for non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. We studied the association of four functional single nucleotide polymorphisms rs2853669, rs2736100, rs7726159 and rs10069690 in the TERT gene that encodes telomerase reverse transcriptase with the risk of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in ethnical Russians. The case group consisted of 344 patients, including 139 patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma and 77 patients with small lymphocytic lymphoma/chronic lymphocytic leukemia. The control group comprised 893 individuals with no history of cancer. Genotyping was carried out by real-time PCR allelic discrimination with TaqMan probes. None of the studied polymorphisms and haplotypes showed statistically significant association with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and its subtypes diffuse large B-cell lymphoma and small lymphocytic lymphoma/chronic lymphocytic leukemia. Our results provide evidence that tested polymorphisms do not influence the risk of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in Russian population.
The efficiency of space observations is largely determined by the characteristics of a satellite carrying the research instrumentation. The present paper is concerned with the major characteristics of a space observatory, 'GAMMA-1', currently being developed for the purpose of ?-ray astronomical observations. As to its design arrangement, the observatory consists of five modules: a (small) research equipment module: REM S; a (large) research equipment module: REM L; an adapter module: AM; an instrument module: IM; and the service module: SM. The modules REM L, IM, AM, REM S are integrated with each other to form a single air-tight compartment. The general lay-out of the space vehicle, the arrangement of the modules, and a diagram showing the exact location of the sensors comprised by the spacecraft motion control system are given in Figure 1.The mass of the observatory is 7100 kg, the length is 7750 mm, and the maximum diameter is 2720 ram.
We analyzed the association of polymorphic variants of rs917997 (G/A) locus in IL18RAP gene and rs187238 (G/C) locus in IL18 gene with the risk of malignant non-Hodgkin's lymphomas in Novosibirsk population. Allele and genotype frequencies of the above loci were determined in patients (243 persons) and control group (371 persons) and compared using χ(2) test. None of the analyzed loci showed statistically significant association with the risk of malignant non-Hodgkin's lymphomas.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
