Objective. To develop methods for a rapid distance computer diagnosis of COVID-19 based on the analysis of breath sounds. It is known that changes in breath sounds can be the indicators of respiratory organs diseases. Computer analysis of these sounds can indicate their typical changes caused by COVID-19, and can be used for a rapid preliminary diagnosis of this disease. Materials and methods. The method of fast Fourier transform (FFT) was used for computer analysis of breath sounds, recorded near the mouth of 14 COVID-19 patients (aged 1880 years) and 17 healthy volunteers (aged 548 years). The frequency of breath sound records ranged from 44 to 96 kHz. Unlike the conventional methods of computer analysis for diagnosis of diseases based on respiratory sound studying, we offer to test a high-frequency part of FFT (20006000 kHz). Results. While comparing the breath sound FFT in patients and healthy volunteers, we developed the methods for COVID-19 computer diagnosis and determined the numerical criteria in patients and healthy persons. These criteria do not depend on sex and age of the examined persons. Conclusions. The offered computer methods based on the analysis of breath sound FFT in patients and volunteers permit to diagnose COVID -19 with relatively high diagnostic parameters. These methods can be used in development of noninvasive means for preliminary self-express diagnosis of COVID-19.
Mortality rate in the Russian Federation in 2018 exceeded the birth rate again. At the same time, a stable and high frequency of early reproductive losses was noted. Every fifth wanted pregnancy terminates spontaneously before the due date. Living in the subarctic zone is associated with several unfavorable climatic factors. Implementation of the reproductive function in these conditions is influenced by region-specific factors, which have multiple effects on the mechanisms of recurrent pregnancy loss. The literature search was performed using PubMed, Medline, Cyberleninka, Scopus and HAC databases. Assessing the degree of adaptation of women of reproductive age living in the subarctic zone of the Russian Federation helps to assess their psychosomatic status and heart rate variability. Taking into account the adaptation parameters, certain patterns were revealed for women of reproductive age, as well as for each trimester of a normal and pathologically ongoing pregnancy. Particular attention in the assessment of adaptive resources of the body deserve leukocyte indices, by changing the parameters of which it is possible to make a forecast of the ongoing pregnancy. The results of this review are of interest to the clinicians working in the subarctic zone of Russia from the standpoint of personalized approach to prevention and prediction of recurrent pregnancy loss.
Investigation which devoted to the study of the age characteristics of the human body are becoming increasingly important. Magnetic resonance tomography is the most informative diagnostic method for intravital visualization of tissues and structures of the brain. It also allows you to more accurately see the picture of morphological features with age-associated changes. The aim of the study was to carry out a comparative analysis of the age-related morphometric characteristics of the cerebellum in male with mesocranic type of cranium in young and old age according to the data of magnetic resonance tomography. The analysis of the results of a morphometric study of the cerebellum on tomograms of 91 men examined for medical reasons was carried out. Depending on the age, the subjects were divided into two groups. Group I included 52 young men (22–27 years old, inclusive), group II included 39 elderly men (from 78 to 83 years old, inclusive). The transverse, longitudinal and vertical dimensions of the cerebellum were determined. When comparing the parameters of the linear dimensions of the cerebellum in the studied age groups of men, a statistically significant decrease in all indicators in old age compared with young age was revealed (p=0.042). There was no statistically significant difference between the parameters of the longitudinal and vertical sizes of the cerebellar hemispheres in individuals of each age group (p>0.05); there is a tendency for these sizes to prevail in the right cerebellar hemisphere. The results obtained can serve as the equivalent of the age-related anatomical norm of the cerebellum in young and old men, which will make it possible to use these data in basic and clinical research, as well as in medical practice.
