High power (HP) laser diodes with apertures around 100um pump solid state and fiber lasers, used for material processing. The necessity for the second stage lasers originates from the well-known limitation of brightness of laser diodes with the aperture increase due to appearance of multiple lateral modes. For the first time we report suppression of lateral modes of 100um wide laser diodes by digital planar holograms. Digital planar hologram narrows spectrum of laser diodes, similar to simple gratings, used in DFB and DBR lasers.
We enamine a conmadirectional asymmeuic nonlinear coupler composed of a linear waveguide and a nonlinear waveguide operating by second harmonic generation. For this we develop a new consistent approach to quantum contradirectional propagation. Using a short-length approximation or a strong^ stimulating field in the second harmonic mode, we can demonstrate an effective uansfer of non-classical properties of light from nonlinear to linear waveguides analysing quadrature and integrated intensily fluctuations, photon number distribution, reduced factorial moments and uncertainty product. Effects of non-classical behaviour of incident beams and of external noise we involved.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
