Electrolysis. -The electrochemical N-arylation of various less basic and more acidic azoles (as compared to pyrazole and dimethylpyrazole), e.g. nitropyrazole (II), triazole and tetrazole, with dimethoxybenzene (I) is studied. The influence of the electrolysis parameters on the reaction outcome is determined and a reaction mechanism is proposed. In contrast to more basic azoles, the presence of tetraalkylammonium salts or collidine is necessary for smooth reaction (only current efficiencies are given instead of yields). -(CHAUZOV*, V. scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
