Introduction: Nowadays, the consumption of alcohol and the increasing number of traffic accidents is one of the most evident problematics. In this perspective, the Traffic Psychology as science aims to understand and analyze all aspects that encompass this phenomenon. Objective: To verify in the literature the performance of traffic psychology in relation to alcohol consumption and traffic accidents. Material and Methods: A systematic and descriptive literature review was carried out based on the search in the online databases Google academic, Virtual Health Library and SciELO.
