Abstract: This paper makes an inquiry into the scope of the term 'peace' and presents a survey among peace researchers on the topic. the results suggest that we should not be looking for a fixed definition of peace, but rather, in keeping with the notion of "epistemological anarchism" (feyerabend), a description that is aware of and takes into account the paradoxes and varying configurations of 'peace' over time and space, including potential blind spots.
