In 2018 marks the 90th Anniversary of the birth of the outstanding mathematician, Professor Nikolai V. Govorov. From 1970 to the end of his life (1981), he headed the department of mathematical analysis at the Kuban State University. N.V.Govorov led diverse scientific activities, participated in mathematical conferences and seminars, lectured for university professors, and opposed dissertations. N.V.Govorov approached all types of his scientific and educational activities with the highest responsibility and conscientiousness. He also imposed the same high demands on his students, seeking to educate highly qualified specialists. In this article, his students and colleagues present their memories of the many-sided activities of N.V.Govorov, with whom they were lucky to cooperate and communicate. He showed a marked interest in complex and new problems. He was more attracted to situations that require original solutions, rather than those that allow you to act in the usual way. Nikolai V. Govorov was an excellent teacher-educator of young scientific personnel. His lectures reflected the most important features of his character – conscientiousness and constant striving for perfection. He often for a long time delayed the publication of his scientific results, seeking to improve them as much as possible.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
