The progress in the digital single market (DSM) has been acknowledged as one of the 10 political priorities by the European Commission since 2015. It could contribute € 415 billion per year (GDP) to the economy of the 28 EU Member States and create hundreds of thousands of new jobs. Nowadays, the ICT sector and the European Digital Agenda have declared it as one of the seven pillars of the Europe 2020 strategy. In order to speed up the development of new information technology and its commercialisation, it is necessary to increase software quality aimed at accelerating and improving technology transfer, taking into account process quality management. The aim of this article is to give an overview of a new approach to producing an additional value of the software development projects to improve the technology transfer process.
The purpose of the research to provide an overview of technology transfer process to potential readers. The topicality of this issue in the world and the state of Latvian research works with the related topic was analyzed and presented in the paper. The author reviewed experiences of colleagues from other universities for identification main concepts used in this field and existing difficulties to perform technology transfer. The anticipated outcome of this review is the identification of information technology transfer model that could be used for transferring research results from Academia to Business Sector.
-Large software development projects with high levels of agility require several IT operations: software configuration management, bug tracking management, making software builds and deployments. Due to high agility in projects, the starting phases are very chaotic and sometimes in a few days customer is willing to get the first release of software. It means that all IT operations should be automated as soon as possible. The study presents a model-driven approach for automation of IT operations through the reuse of the existing source code. In addition, it presents a method for the development of library of reusable source code. The paper contains a brief description of the model-driven approach, library of source code and metamodels developed for a new methodology. The paper ends with the results of the practical experiments and conclusions on how this approach could be improved in the future.
