This study aims to describe curriculum development in vocational education based on the development of Information Technology and the needs of the industrial world. This study used the literature review method from scientific articles in ten years (from 2011 to 2021) using several specific keywords to obtain the data needed. The results of this study showed that vocational schools in Indonesia need to form graduates who have soft skills and hard skills that have a match or conformity with the business and industries. Thus, vocational education graduates when entering the real world will not have difficulties adapting to the development of technology in the industry. Based on this study, any incompatibility in the community and special skills can be avoided through the implementation of a vocational education curriculum.
The pandemic corona virus 2019 (COVID-19) has become an international concern and poses challenges to psychological resilience in all fields, one of which is education. Therefore an effective learning strategy is needed to deal with this pandemic. The purpose of this study was to survey students spread across various universities in Indonesia and Malaysia regarding e-learning systems conducted during the COVID-19 outbreak in Indonesia and Malaysia in 2020, e-learning systems starting from student knowledge about e-learning, planning elearning, implementing e-learning until evaluating e-learning activities. Data will be used for future reference. This research is a descriptive study with cross sectional approach. The Likert scale survey method is used with a total of 136 student respondents from tertiary institutions in Indonesia and Malaysia. The results of the analysis show that students know e-learning as a distance learning system in dealing with the current pandemic corona virus, 51% expressed agreement related to e-learning preparation, 38% stated neutral in e-learning planning and 68% stated neutral in evaluating the implementation of e-learning. Student assessment and good perception about e-learning play a big role in the implementation of learning with e-learning. E-learning has a positive impact and has become an alternative learning process for lecturers and students. Good preparation is needed in implementing e-learning so that e-learning activities can be carried out effectively. Interaction can be developed and limited conditions through face-to-face meetings can be answered through e-learning activities.
This study aims to analyze the competence of vocational school teachers needed in Industry 4.0 based on the opinions of policymakers using a quantitative method (13 education policymakers). Identifying the priority competencies of vocational school teachers is an important issue because low teacher competence is a problem for vocational education in Indonesia. The results of the study indicated the priority of pedagogical competence, social competence, personality competence, and professional competence of vocational teachers. Vocational teacher pedagogic competencies that are very much needed are the ability to actualize potential as part of student development, the ability to understand students in-depth, and the ability to understand the character of students in physical, social, cultural, emotional, and intellectual aspects. In addition, vocational school teachers are expected to have the ability to design and evaluate learning. The needed social competencies for vocational school teachers are the ability to communicate efficiently, emphatically, and respectfully both oral and written communication skills, and the ability to communicate and improve themselves using ICT.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the competence of vocational teachers needed in implementing the independent learning policy based on the opinions of teachers and lecturers. The research method uses quantitative methods on 356 teachers and lecturers. The results showed the priority of vocational teacher competency indicators from pedagogical competence, social competence, personality competence, and professional competence. The pedagogic competency indicator that is needed by vocational teachers is the ability to motivate students. An indicator of social competence that is needed by vocational teachers is having a polite and polite attitude. Personality competency indicators that are needed by vocational teachers are having an honest personality, and indicators of professional competence that are needed by vocational teachers are the ability to transfer knowledge and technology. Character of industrial 4.0 skilled worker is an important thing to prepare as soon to face industrial challenge in 4th revolution industry. Industrial 4.0 is an industry that combines automation technology with cyber technology. It will give more impact and change everything totally. Various forms of education must be introduced, but it still does not solve problems for older workers and do not want to change following the development of industrial progress. Because in industrial 4.0 of disruption era will be ordered robot as an effective and efficiency solution for industry and less cost also. So, as worker we must improve our skill to compete and win it. In this research contains three main topics are (a) knowing the industrial Era 4.0, (b) disruption in the industrial Era 4.0 (c) Skills to face industry 4.0. This research method use literature review as 1) searching and selection 2) describe, 3) analysis. The conclusions overall suggest that all workers must improve their skills to face industrial 4.0 era. In this research suggest 4 main skills are effective communication, learn and innovative, information-media-technology, skills full in life and career.
