Elucidating patterns of diversity and endemism of terrestrial gastropods throughout the Indo-Australian Archipelago, a global biodiversity hotspot, is complicated by our commonly inadequate understanding of species boundaries. The systematic classification of many land snail groups still rests on historical treatments, in which taxonomic names were often proliferated based on subjective assessments of shell features of just of few studied individuals.
