Abstract Introduction:The specific characteristics of the military police career that composes the professional environment reflect their risks, safety, level of stress, and other factors. Together they form the perception of quality of life and health of these profession-als. Objective: Evaluate the quality of life of military police in the São Paulo State, Brazil. Patients and Methods: This is a Cross-sectional study with 289 militaries belonging to the 16 th Battalion of Military Police. The WHOQOL-BREF was used to collect data. The questionnaire consists of 26 questions, of which two are general questions about the living conditions and health. The remaining 24 questions are related to physical, psychological, social, and environmental domains, and its respective facets. Results: Of the 289 militaries involved in the study, 270 (93.43%) were male, with a prevalence of the age group ranging from 30 to 45 years (234 militaries -80.97%). Of these, 201 (69.55%) were officers and married, 128 (44.29%) have been working in the Military Police for 6 to 20 years. Regarding schooling, 148 (51.21%) had secondary education and 110 (38.06%) higher education. About work schedule, 86 (29.76%) officers worked during business hours, 200 (69.20%) adopted shift work, and 92 (31.89%) worked 24x48-hour shifts. Regarding the quality of life, 231 (80%) officers reported a quality of life varying from good or very good, while nearly 10% of officers have referred to it as very dissatisfied (4-1.4%) or dissatisfied (23-8%). Quality of life scores ranged from 60.88 to 72.52. Psychological domain had the highest score (72.52) and environment domain, the lowest score (60.88). Conclusion: Military police officers showed some impairment in factors related to the Environment Domain, suggesting that im-provements are needed, mainly regarding the aspects related to physical security and protection of these professionals, as well as environmental conditions where they are inserted in, financial resources, and transportation, in addition to their home environment.
