A new, simple, rapid, selective, precise and accurate reverse phase high performance liquid chromatography assay has been developed for simultaneous estimation of Bilastine, and Montelukast in tablet formulations. The separation was achieved by using Phenomenax Kinetex XB C-18 column (150 x 4.6mm, 5 .) using mobile phase Methanol: 0.1% TFA water (80:20). Injection volume was 10µl. The flow rate was 1.0mL.min-1 and the separated drugs were detected using UV detector at the wavelength of 270nm. The retention time of Bilastine and Montelukast was noted to be 1.27, and 4.86 respectively, indicative of rather shorter analysis time. The method was validated as per ICH guidelines. The proposed method was found to be accurate, reproducible, and consistent. It was successfully applied for the analysis of these drugs in marketed formulations and could be effectively used for the routine analysis of formulations containing any one of the above drugs, or a combination, without any alteration in the chromatographic conditions.
Herbal medicine (also Herbalism) is the study of pharmacognosy and the use of medicinal plants. Plants have been the basis for medical treatments through most of human history, and such traditional medicine is still widely practiced today. Archaeological evidence indicates that the use of medicinal plants dates back to the Paleolithic age, approximately 60,000 years ago. Written evidence of herbal remedies dates back over 5,000 years to the Sumerians, who compiled lists of plants.
Objective: A new, simple, sensitive, precise and reproducible bioanalytical method was developed for the determination of Dasatinib in pharmaceutical formulations with Chloranilic acid.
Methods: The method is based on formation of violet colored complex. The UV spectrum of Dasatinib in methanol showed λ max at 521 nm. Beer’s law is valid in the concentration range of 10-60 μg/ml. This method was validated for linearity, accuracy, precision, ruggedness and robustness.
Results: The method has demonstrated excellent linearity over the range of 10-60 μg/ml with regression equation y = 0.021x-0.083 and regression correlation coefficient r2= 0.997. Moreover, the method was found to be highly sensitive with LOD (2.96μg/ml) and LOQ (8.98μg/ml).
Conclusion: Based on results the proposed method can be successfully applied for the assay of Dasatinib in various pharmaceutical dosageforms.
