This paper describes integrated navigation system that is based on a low cost inertial sensor, global positioning system (GPS) receiver, magnetometer and a barometer, in order to improve accuracy of complete attitude and navigation solution. The main advantage of integration consists in availability of reliable navigation parameters during the intervals of absence of GPS data. The magnetometer and the barometer are applied for the attitude calibration and vertical channel stabilization, respectively. The acceptable accuracy of inertial navigation system (INS) is achieved by the proper damping of INS errors. The integration is made by the implementation of an extended Kalman filter (EKF) with control signal that is designed appropriate for low accuracy sensors noise characteristics. The analysis of integrated navigation system performances is made experimentally and the results show that integrated navigation system provides continuous and reliable navigation solutions.
Introduction/purpose:The paper presents the development of logistics as a specific field of military branch, a contemporary field of business and a scientific discipline which inspires many researchers, theorists and practitioners to approach logistical problems from various aspects. The essence of logistics is an integrated approach to all its constituent activities, which reduces costs and increases the efficiency and effectiveness of the logistics system in supporting the primary activities of an organization or a technical system. Due to intensive and multidimensional development of logistics and its applications in various fields, the need for highly educated logistics personnel with specialized knowledge for performing a wide range of activities in the logistics system is becoming increasingly necessary. Methods: Based on the description of military, business, national and humanitarian logistics and a comparative analysis, their mutual relationship is shown. Results: Based on the performed analysis, an explanation of the importance of studying logistics as a multidisciplinary science and pointing out the need for specific training of logistics personnel was given. Conclusion: Logistics is intensively developing in various fields depending on the goals of the system (organizational and technical) it supports. In general, commercial logistics is evolving faster than military logistics, and many innovative commercial logistics solutions are being deployed in 80
Recent studies showed that the performance of the modulation classification (MC) is considerably improved by using multiple sensors deployed in a cooperative manner. Such cooperative MC solutions are based on the centralized fusion of independent features or decisions made at sensors. Essentially, the cooperative MC employs multiple uncorrelated observations of the unknown signal to gather more complete information, compared to the single sensor reception, which is used in the fusion process to refine the MC decision. However, the non-cooperative nature of MC inherently induces large loss in cooperative MC performance due to the unreliable measure of quality for the MC results obtained at individual sensors (which causes the partial information loss while performing centralized fusion). In this paper, the distributed two-stage fusion concept for the cooperative MC using multiple sensors is proposed. It is shown that the proposed distributed fusion, which combines feature (cumulant) fusion and decision fusion, facilitate preservation of information during the fusion process and thus considerably improve the MC performance. The clustered architecture is employed, with the influence of mismatched references restricted to the intra-cluster data fusion in the first stage. The adopted distributed concept represents a flexible and scalable solution that is suitable for implementation of large-scale networks.
