PURPOSE. The problem of prompt and efficient fire suppression in high-rise buildings is getting more relevant in view of increase in the number of floors in residential buildings nowadays. The aim of the given work is to conduct an analytical review and identify the main features of extinguishing fires in high-rise buildings with the help of technical means delivering extinguishing agents to the height. METHODS. The authors used methods of mathematical statistics, systems analysis and expert assessments. FINDINGS. The analysis of fires in multi-storey residential buildings in the Russian Federation made it possible to reveal the trend towards increase in fires in such buildings over the past few years. Kitchen and living rooms are still the main source of ignition. And the problem of delivering extinguishing agents to the height remains relevant. Three scenarios of fires for different floors were simulated and schemes for delivering extinguishing agents with the help of mobile means of fire extinguishment were proposed. Fire-fighting equipment and its weight necessary for extinguishing fires were calculated. The probability of the injury rate growth due to increased load on firemen while extinguishing fires at these facilities was brought out. RESEARCH APPLICATION FIELD. The outcomes of the research can be used when studying specifics of fire development in multi-storey residential buildings in order to further improve technical means of fire extinguishment. CONCLUSIONS. Developing and introducing “gentle” means for delivering extinguishing agents in enclosed spaces will allow minimizing damage from excessive water delivery onto fires, and improving ergonomic parameters of fire-fighting equipment will make it possible to speed up laying main and working lines and also to reduce the level of injuries among firefighters due to exhaustion.
Introduction. A study of the fleet of fire trucks was conducted. The absence of a direct dependence of the operating time of a fire truck on its service life is confirmed on the basis of the analysis. A matrix of conditions for making a decision on the need to replace a fire truck is formed, taking into account the standard purpose of the fire truck, its service life, the actual technical condition described by the corresponding category of technical condition, as well as the date of termination of its release. A criterion for the need to replace a fire truck has been developed, as well as an algorithm for making a decision on the need to replace a fire truck in conditions of limited funding. Goals and objectives. The purpose of the article is to develop an algorithm for making a decision about the need to replace a fire truck. This goal allows us to solve the problem of justifying the need to replace the sample in the course of ensuring a given level of readiness of fire and rescue units. Methods. Methods of mathematical statistics, the theory of the importance of criteria, technical and economic analysis, mathematical modeling and system analysis were used to achieve the goal and solve the problems of the study. Results and discussion. A criterion for the need to replace a fire truck is developed, on the basis of which a block diagram of the algorithm for making a decision on the need to replace a sample is formed. Conclusion. The results obtained in the course of the work can be used in the development of programs (plans) for re-equipping fire and rescue units with modern fire trucks. Introduction. The process of operation of fire trucks is investigated. A graph has been constructed that reflects the possible states of the car depending on age. A mathematical description of the possible states of the car is given and the well-known Bellman equation is adapted to describe the function of minimizing the cost of maintaining fire trucks. An algorithm has been developed that describes the conditions for the stay of fire equipment in the category of operation, which ensures the possibility of its use for its intended purpose. Goals and objectives of the study. The goal is to manage the readiness of fire trucks by defining a strategy for their operation and improving the quality of service and repair. To achieve the goal, the tasks were solved to determine the conditions for the stay of a fire truck in the I or II category of operation, a mathematical description of these conditions and an algorithm for the stay of the vehicle in the required category of operation were given. Research methods. In the course of the study, methods of operations research and the method of dynamic programming were used. Results and its discussion. An algorithm has been developed that allows, in the course of long-term planning, to ensure the serviceability of fire trucks and their readiness for use for their intended purpose. Conclusion. The results of the study can be used as practical recommendations for officials of the logistics authorities in the long-term planning of the operation of fire trucks of fire and rescue units in modern conditions.
