Thermal burns in animals represent an urgent problem for veterinary medicine, since the anti-burn drugs available on the world pharmacological market are not always adapted for use on animals and are approved for use in veterinary medicine. In this regard, the aim of the work was to use the wound healing spray “Acerbin” for medical purposes in the treatment of thermal burns and to evaluate its therapeutic efficacy by the rate of epithelialization of burn defects in the skin in laboratory animals. The work was carried out at the Department of Surgery and Therapy of the Kursk State Agricultural Academy, on laboratory white mice in the amount of 60 individuals, in which thermal burns were simulated in the croup and treated with applications of the Acerbin spray. To assess the rate of growth of epithelialization, planimetric measurements of the area of burns were carried out before treatment on the 3rd, 5th, 7th, 10th and 14th days of treatment, as well as the corresponding mathematical calculations of the rate of reduction of burn defects. According to the research results, it was found that when applying the Acerbin spray, the burn rate index on the 3rd day was 0.25 ± 0.06; on the 5th day 0.58 ± 0.03; on the 7th day 0.74 ± 0.01; on the 10th day 0.86 ± 0.02; on the 14th day 0.95 ± 0.01. Thus, at the end of the therapeutic period, the index of the epithelialization rate of thermal burns approached the most physiologically justified numerical expression equal to “1.0”, which allows it to be recommended for use in veterinary medicine as the preparation of choice for the treatment of thermal burns of the skin in animals.
Thermal injuries are wide spread among home pets and are represented as a recent problem of veterinary medicine because of the lack of anti-burn drugs adapted for use in veterinary medicine. In this regard, the aim of our work is to certify the vulnerary spray “Acerbin” for medical purposes in the treatment of thermal injuries of animals and to evaluate its therapeutic potency according to the dynamics of healing burn injuries and recovery of the blood cell composition. The research was carried out on 60 laboratory white mice. Thermal injuries of the skin integument on the dorsal surface of the croup were simulated; the “Acerbin” spray was further applied. To achieve the aim, the blood samples and planimetric measured tests of the area of burn defects were taken on the 3rd, 5th, 7th, 10th and 14th day of treatment. The samples were analyzed by the quantitative content of erythrocytes, thrombocytes, leucocytes and cHb (blood hemoglobin concentration) using an automatic hematological analyzer “Abacus vet 10”. Planimetric indicators of the area of burns were subjected to mathematical processing with the calculation of the rate of epithelization of the burn injury. The obtained hematological and planimetric digital indicators were processed by statistical methods of analysis, compared and then interpreted.
The purpose of the research was to obtain new experimental samples of collagen antiseptic ointments and to evaluate the effect of their use on the healing of purulent-necrotic ulcers of the finger tissues in cows. To achieve this goal, two experimental samples of collagen ointment were made: the first sample was a collagen analog of «Levomekol» ointment, and the second sample was a collagen ointment based on «Kemistep+» hoof sanitizer. The evaluation of the effect of their application on the healing of purulent-necrotic ulcers of the finger tissues was carried out in two experimental groups of sick animals with purulent-necrotic ulcers of the hoof crumb tissues of 7 heads each. In the first experimental group of animals, the first experimental sample of the ointment was applied, in the second - the second experimental sample. According to the results of scientific studies, it was found that the use of collagen ointment with the disinfectant «Kemistep+» on purulent-necrotic ulcers of crumb contributed to a decrease in their number. The epithelization index in the second experimental group compared to the first experimental group indicated a more positive effect of the use of collagen ointment with the disinfectant «Kemistep+» on the healing of purulent-necrotic ulcers of the finger tissues in cows than similar applications of the collagen analogue of the ointment «Levomekol».
The purpose of the work was to test and compare the therapeutic efficacy of the wound healing spray "Acerbin" for medical purposes and Vishnevsky's balsamic liniment in the treatment of thermal burns. The work was carried out on laboratory white mice in the amount of 60 individuals, in which thermal burns of the skin on the dorsal surface of the croup were modeled, and then the tested drugs were applied to the burn site in two experimental groups. Evaluation of therapeutic efficacy in terms of the dynamics of reduction in the area of burn injury, the index of its epithelialization and in terms of normalization of the cytomorphological composition of whole blood. The conducted studies made it possible to establish that the applications of the drug "Acerbin" contributed to a more intensive dynamics of healing of burn defects than the use of Vishnevsky's balsamic liniment, namely, on the 3rd day, the area of burns was less by 0,32%, on the 5th day - by 25,21%, on the 7th day - by 14,57%, on the 10th day - by 18,92%, on the 14th day - by 19.5%. The index of epithelialization of burns under the influence of applications of the drug "Acerbin" was higher than with applications of Vishnevsky liniment on the 5th day by 0,14%, on the 7th day - by 0,10%, on the 10th day - by 0, 10%, on the 14th day - by 0,10%. In the cytomorphological composition of the blood, applications of the drug "Acerbin" caused a more intense increase in the number of platelets than similar manipulations of Vishnevsky's liniment, namely, on the 3rd day, there were more platelets by 2,84%, on the 5th day - by 6,40%, on the 7th day. on the first day - by 5,62%, on the 10th day - by 8,16%, on the 14th day - by 14,29%, respectively. Applications of the drug "Acerbin" more effectively stopped post-burn leukocytosis than Vishnevsky's balm, that is, on the 3rd day there were less leukocytes by 35,60%, on the 5th day - by 41,34%, on the 7th day - by 24,61%, on the 10th day - by 16,73%, on the 14th day - by 11,39%, respectively. Thus, the data obtained on the therapeutic efficacy of the wound healing spray "Acerbin" in the treatment of thermal burns in animals allow us to recommend it for use in practical veterinary medicine for the treatment of combustial pathology.
