Mr. Lane has been operating on all cases of simple fracture, when he lias not been able to obtain accurate apposition of the fragments, for the last thirteen j^ears ; and this book embodies the results of his treatment.In the opening chapters the changes which take place in the skeleton when exposed to abnormal pressure from varying occupations are described, and these lead up to a section on the changes which occur as a consequence of a badly united fracture.
