Durch Bromierung und DBU‐Dehydrobromierung des Urazols (I) entsteht das Dien (II), das thermisch zum Aromaten (III) umgelagert wird und dann durch Behandlung mit Alkali und Braunstein zum Benzocyclooctatetraen (IV) abgebaut werden kann.
