With t h c emcreence of renewed i n t e r e s t i n l i g h t e r -t h a n -a i r c r a f t , t h e r e has developed a need t o estimate t h e mngnitude and nature of t h e various ccefficicnts and derivatives defining t h e perforniancc and s t a b i l i t y and control of very l a r g e aerodynamic bodies. The primary sources of information upon which t o base thcse estimates a r e documents and reports i n many cases more than f o r t y years old. Much of t h i s l i t e r a t u r e uses nonstandard notation and because o f t h e limited instrumentation and f a c i l i . $ i e s of t h c time i s of dubious accwacy. This paper attcmpts t o examine t h e available data reduced t o modern notational p r a c t i c e , t o evaluate i t s r e l i a b i l i t y and t o i n d i c a t e areas where addit i o n a l data a r e needad.
