Observations obtained during the first three years of observation with the Fick Observatory photoelectric radial-velocity spectrometer have been employed to select a set of 200 velocity standard stars brighter than 7th magnitude of spectral types from late F to early M. All velocities have been reduced to the Lick Observatory system.
Orbital elements are reported for three single-line spectroscopic binaries, HR 2692, HR 3725, and HR 5911, none of which have previously determined orbits. In addition, improved orbital elements are reported for three stars with previously determined orbits of low quality.
A recently completed photoelectric stellar radial-velocity spectrometer is described. Initial performance tests are reported and the results of a calibration of the instrument are given.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
