The spins and electromagnetic properties of levels in 45Sc up to 2,352 keV were studied by means of inelastic proton scattering using a 3-parameter coincidence arrangement and Coulomb excitation with 3He and 4He beams. Relevant experimental results are discussed in terms of the Thankappen-True core-plus-particle model.
Levels up to 3,016keV in 59Co were studied using the 59Co (p,p'v) and 56Fe (e, pv) reactions. Level energies, branching ratios, mean lifetimes and spins were obtained for a number of levels.
Properties of levels up to 5 MeV excitation in 37C1 were studied with 37Cl(p,p'7)37C1, 37C1(0~, 0(7)37C1 and 34S(~,p7)37C1 reactions. Results are discussed with reference to the many-particle shell model with an effective surface delta interaction. PACS:27.30.+t; 23.20.-g; 21.60.Cs * This work formed part of the PhD thesis of J.J. Lawrie. 1 Present address of the National Accelerator Centre at Faure. Enriched targets of Sb2S3 (94.3% 34S) and (98.6% 3vC1) were used in these experiments.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
