On this study, we produced an educational experimental kit for classifying reagents by manufacturing a simplified polarimeter. Actual polarimeters are generally less accessible for using. Thus, we used polarizers and acrylics to produce an educational experimental kit. In this study, we measured the photoactivity of reagents, and the error range was less than ±1°. Additionally, we automated the process of measuring photoactivity by using arduino. It is expected that this kit can be used as an experimental tool to predict results in advance before using an actual polarimeter in the future.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
