The estimation of triangular mesh curvature is implemented by establishing local quadric surface at vertexes of mesh. Deduction course of quadric surface curvature calculation is presented. Errors and complexity of two curvature estimation methods, which are the ecumenical quadric surface fitting method and the quadric paraboloid surface fitting method respectively, are compared. Technique for curvature group display is put forward. This technique can display features of mesh distinctly, even though the curvature values of mesh distribute non-uniformly in their variety range.
Problems in the process of machining hi-Cr white cast iron slurry pump were analyzed. The overall PCBN(Polycrystalline Cubic Boron Nitride) cutting tools were selected to cut impeller and sheath of slurry pump at high speed. The flank wear and cutting performance of ceramic cutting tools and PCBN cutting tools in process of high-speed cutting hi-chromium white cast iron Cr26 were comparative studied. Examples justified overall PCBN cutting tools possess the excellent performance of increasing cutter lifetime and cutting efficiency.
Under dry cutting conditions, multi-factor orthogonal experiment test method is adopted to carry out experiment of milling gray cast iron HT200 using PCBN indexable face milling tool. Milling force empirical formula model is established by means of least-square method and regression analysis. Significance test of regression equation and regression coefficient prove that the reliability of the established model is high. Test results show among three milling forces, the biggest one is tangential force Fz, the smallest one is radial force Fy, whereas value of axial force Fx is between Fz and Fy. Through analyzing experiment results, relationship of milling parameters influence on milling force is summarized. A method for surface interrogation named light-strip model based highlight-line technique is proposed. The principium of this method is: taking out a light-strip that includes axial line to replace light-cylinder, making all lines lie in a same light source plane, getting a series of highlight-points on surface by intersecting distance function with different plains, using cubic Hermite interpolation to fit continuous highlight-line cluster passing through those highlight-points. Examples show this method is a comparative ideal surface interrogation technique, it overcomes the shortcoming of light-cylinder model based one as highlight-lines correlating with fiducially line, and the interrogation results cannot reflect the surface fairness of curvature acutely diversification regions.
