This study was conducted to describe the formation and meaning of Indonesian words as Indonesian Twitter's tweet register markers. This research is a qualitative descriptive study with data collection methods using listen and note method. The referential equivalent method and the content analysis method with the presentation of the results of data analysis carried out using formal and informal methods are two methods used in data analysis. The data source is Twitter user comments in the six tweets of the @areajulid account with the most comments in 2021. The results show that there are five ways of forming Indonesian words as Twitter registers, namely the process of (1) affixation, including the words "mengjamet", "mengkesal", and "membagongkan"; (2) abbreviations include the words "mjb", "pen", "jamet", "lontang", "sat", "dahlah", and "monmaap"; (3) anagrams include the words "kane", "isilop", and "ngab"; (4) hybrids include the words "kenawhy", "akhlakn't", and "jujurly"; and (5) changes in the form of syllables in basic words including the words "anjir", "anjrit", "santuy", "gemoy", and "cangtip". The purposes of using the Indonesian word Twitter register marker are (1) to express feelings; (2) to make fun of; (3) to greet; and (4) to misspelt words.
Political advertising is political marketing that serves to gain voters' support. Political leaders use advertising as a means of creating their self-images that depict they are ideal figures to lead the nation, thus deserving of being elected in the election. In political advertising, language becomes a powerful medium to instill ideology as well as to obtain and maintain power. Various linguistic devices are used to gain sympathy; attracting one's attention; creating perceptions concerning existing problems; and controlling the mind, behavior, and values of the public. This article aims to (1) examine how candidates and parties represent themselves in the language of political advertising in the Indonesian elections, (2) examine the pattern of relationship between the candidates and the public that was formed in the language of political advertising in Indonesian elections, and (3) examine the language manipulation that is used for political purposes in the election advertising in Indonesia. In the analysis, the representations of legislative candidates of Partai Demokrat (Democrat Party in Indonesia) were studied. Based on the analysis, the candidates of Partai Demokrat, who will fight for the region, city, or regency--where they will represent their constituencies--focus on unemployment issues and are mostly popular figures. Overall, in their political advertising, the public is always represented as the one that will be fought for, defended, and fostered. Also, the public is always represented as the underdog, subordinate, or marginal entity. On the other hand, the political parties and candidates are always represented as a strong, dominant and advantageous entity.
Advertising is a form of expression to convey ideas through a language either orally or in writing. Advertising that is conveyed in writing is sometimes combined with pictures and colors. Advertising aims to encourage and persuade the public that is interested in either the products or services offered. In other words, advertising must have a persuasive element. With their sophisticated networks, cellular phone service companies offer a wide array of excellence in attracting their customers. Various advantages offered by cellular phone service companies are conveyed through a language. The language containing creative dictions is always used by these companies in attracting their customers. This study aims to identify what elements make up the morphological system of advertising language used by the cellular phone service companies.From the analysis, it can be concluded that the morphological system of advertising language in the cellular phone services has both qualitative and quantitative elements which are presented in an interesting, creative, and persuasive way to depict the simplicity, inexpensiveness, completeness, security, frugality, peacefulness of the services themselves. The study also found that the morphological system of the advertising language has specific phonemic forms in their morphological process, specific morphemic forms in their morphological process, special morphemes which are specifically used in the field of cellular phone, specific morphological process, and specialized dictions. They are the typical forms of morphological system of the advertising language in the cellular phone services.
ABSTRAKEtnik Sunda sudah sejak lama mengenal bertanam padi di sawah. Bertanam padi seperti ini dilakukan melalui tahapan-Etnik Sunda sudah sejak lama mengenal bertanam padi di sawah. Bertanam padi seperti ini dilakukan melalui tahapan-tahapan tertentu, yakni mulai mengolah lahan sampai dengan memetik padi. Sesuai dengan perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi, pertanian sawah mengalami perkembangan, baik terkait dengan sistem irigasi maupun perlengkapan yang digunakan dan pupuk penyubur tanaman serta obat-obatan pembasmi hama. Namun demikian, sampai sekarang masih juga dimanfaatkan teknologi tradisional pertanian sawah oleh orang Sunda. Salah satu alat yang masih digunakan dalam mengolah lahan adalah wuluku 'bajak'. Alat ini digunakan dengan cara ditarik oleh seekor atau dua ekor kerbau. Petugas yang melaksanakan pengolahan lahan dengan menggunakan wuluku ini memberikan instruksi-instruksi tertentu kepada kerbau. Dalam bahasa Sunda, kata wuluku memiliki variasi lain, seperti luku dan singkal. Dari hasil penelitian geografi dialek diketahui bahwa kata wuluku dan variasinya ini menyebar di berbagai daerah sejalan dengan penyebaran teknologi sawah tradisional dalam masyarakat Sunda. Artikel ini mencoba mendeskripsikan kata wuluku dan variasinya beserta penyebarannya secara geografis dalam wilayah tutur bahasa Sunda di Jawa Barat.
The continuous changes of society have brought some impacts to the name of a place. Even though it is only a name, it actually deals with the cultural perspective of the surrounding communities. Currently, toponym becomes important for society as a part of identity formation processes including for the Sundanese. Beside spoken in West Java and Banten, Sundanese language is also spoken by Central Java communities who live in western areas such as Cilacap, Brebes, and Banyumas regencies. In Cilacap and Brebes regencies, Sundanese language is still an eff ective language for daily communication. However, in Banyumas regency, this language undergo changes. In fact, the Sundanese language in Banyumas is a quite unique since the archaic words such as pineuh (sleeping) and teoh (below) are still found. This area still keeps its oral tradition such as the story about the history of the place names. The study of the place name is an eff ort to strengthen an identity as the place name can be understood as a symbol rooted on the history of the place in its local culture. This tradition contributes toward a sustainability of the place name along with their cultural values.
