This paper presents a novel antenna design for ultra wide-band body area network applications. The design is composed of two Vivaldi shapes placed opposite to each other on the same substrate, which achieves constant impedance matching over a wide band and uniform radiation pattern. To reduce the backward radiation, two types of reflector were used: flat and curved. Results show that using a curved reflector enhances the radiation pattern on most of the UWB with less effect on the antenna impedance compared to the flat reflector.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
