This paper analyzed the seasonal-temporal variation of Cd in bottom waters in Jiaozhou Bay during [1979][1980][1981][1982][1983]. Results showed that for seasonal variation, Cd contents in bottom waters in spring and summer were relatively low and were confirmed to Grade I, while in autumn were relatively high and the highest values of Cd contents were confirmed to Grade II. For temporal variation, the highest values of Cd contents in bottom waters in 1979-1982 were confirmed to Grade I, while in 1983 were Grade II. This indicated that the input of Cd to the bay was different in different seasons, and the time lag of pollution treatment to the development industry could cause environment pollution and ecological damage.
This paper analyzed the horizontal distributions and the trends of Cu contents in surface and bottom waters in Jiaozhou Bay during 1982-1985 in Shandong Province of China. Based on this analysis, this paper established block diagram models for high sedimentation process. The distribution trends of Cu contents in surface and bottom waters could be determined, and the high sedimentation locations could be defined. In according to the block diagram models, the transport path and the remaining trace of the substance contents could be defined, and the horizontal distribution trends of the substance contents could be predicted.
Cu pollution in marine bay has been one of the environmental issues in the world, and understanding the transporting process of Cu is essential to environmental protection. This paper analyzed the horizontal distributions of Cu in bottom waters in Jiaozhou Bay, and identified the high settling regions based on investigation data on Cu during 1982-1985. Results showed that there were rapid settling processes in the bay, and a big part of Cu was transported to bottom waters. Furthermore, there were accumulation processes in these high settling regions. These findings were helpful information in decision-making of pollution control and environmental remediation practice.
Ocean is the sink of various pollutants by means of the settling process. Understanding the mechanism of settling process of pollutants is essential to environmental protection and scientific research. This paper analyzed the high settling regions of Cu in bottom waters in Jiaozhou Bay, and revealed the mechanism the high settling process based on investigation data on Cu during 1982-1985. Results showed that there were five mechanisms for Cu's high settling processes. These findings were helpful information in decision-making of pollution control and environmental remediation practice.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
